Articles are reviewed by Derek Halpern, our Editor. Derek spent 15 years running a pool service in the southwest before turning to writing. He focuses on water chemistry, equipment troubleshooting, and the math behind a balanced pool.

We don't fabricate testing claims. When we say a product is worth picking, we say so on the basis of what's verifiable — owner reports, manufacturer specs, and independent reviews. Where consensus is split, we say that too.
